| maslatte's Full Review: General Reviews of Cingular Wireless Customer Serv... |
Six months ago I switched from AT&T because their phones kept quitting on me and their customer service started going down hill. I had heard horror stories about Sprint so I decided to go with Cingular Wireless. My partner and I each got a phone with a rebate for the price of our phones, and got on the Texas Statewide Plus. Supposedly we would get 400 anytime minutes, 5000 weekend minutes, no roaming in Texas, and unlimited mobile to mobile. This would have been great since most of our calls are to each other. I have had a cell phone for at least 8 years and I very rarely go over on my minutes with whatever company I am with. The problems started the first bill. They were charging me twice for having a second phone on my account. When I inquired about this they just commented that the bill just looks funny and that it was really a fee for the weekend minutes. There bill will state a fee is one thing and really it something else, but on the bill it has second phone line added two different times on separate pages. So a bill that was suppose to be $60, ($39.99 for first phone and $19.99 for 2nd phone) was really $91.00. That is $31.00 of extra fees. It was already after the 30 day period so I could not cancel my contract. The next month I got a 400.00 bill. My heart sank and I knew I had been had. I was going to have to fight this company for the next 12 months. I called customer service and asked for a detailed bill which I receive a week later. For 4 years I received a detailed bill each month with AT&T and understood it perfectly, and yet I could not make head or tales of this detailed bill. There where so many so called calls that did not have any way for me to verify it. Without proof I payed the $400.00 bill. What really got me is when I called to complain the next 2 months was $90.00 and I never got any replies about the inquiry to that bill. But all of a sudden I could not receive calls. This month I got another $267.00 bill. It is funny how if I complain all of a sudden those calls disappear on the next month. I would not recommend this company to even my enemy.
