| Adept's Full Review: Logitech Cordless MouseMan Optical (930496-0215) |
I was all excited to get my new cordless mouse/keyboard combo from Logitech. What a sucker... These comments should apply to just about all Logitech mice. The bundle was $60, I'm placing the mouse at $25.
Batteries: They tell you the batteries will last 4-6 months - they last 1 month, tops.
Software: Their software doesn't even recognize their own mouse! So I can't use all the features like the highly pushed "WebWheel".
Support: Almost nonexistent. After several fruitless attempts at getting support, I was finally told, basically, to get lost.
Design: The thumb button is impossible to avoid - you will constantly hit it accidentally. You have to disable it, so this is a 3-button mouse. The feel of this mouse is inferior to the Microsoft.
Radio Signal: Every few days the keyboard and mouse both lose signal and stop working for 10-15 seconds.
Bundled Keyboard: "Pause" restarts a song in WinAmp instead of pausing. I was told by support "we don't support WinAmp". Great. It worked fine with my Microsoft keyboard! The ergo attachment also falls off.
I hate to support Microsoft, but their stuff is actually better in this case. Avoid the Logitech!
