Re: Took me back to Mazatlan (Reply to this comment)
by macresarf1
Dear sfoandsea: I have not been back to Mazatlan myself for several years. [I hope to get down there this winter.] As far as I know, not much has changed, but the city fathers, as I suggest, are restoring the Old Town at quite a pace: the Opera House, the artist colony, new cafes and restaurants, etc. From what could be observed on my last couple of visits, the work is being done with a great deal of good taste. I am expectant to see what further progress they have made.
Thank you for your testimony to the accuracy of my little essay.
To our return to Mazatlan!

Dear darciaknight: Sorry I took so long to reply here. Indeed, if you have not spent time in the original Old City lately, that is a place to explore. I should think that your retirement plan might send you there also. It will certainly be more economical, compared with the Golden Zone.
Indeed, perhaps one day we shall meet there for Margaritas.
Thank you for your praise.
Hasta luego.

Another prespective on Mazatlan!! (Reply to this comment)

Really enjoyed your pespective on the city we LOVE!!!Have been going to Mazatlan for 9 years now,and have always stayed in the Golden Zone.Have gone from 2 weeks a year up to 5 weeks this past winter, and plan to spend up to 6 months a year upon early retirement. You have really provoked an interest into getting out of the tourist zone, and seeing another part of the city.
Thank you so much for your insights.Maybe one day will get the chance to meet you.

Dear skygirl: Thank you. It sounds as if you are getting in on the ground floor in Cuba.
I have suffered from an iMac "tiny font" bug here at Epinions for over six weeks (which is why I have not been reading and rating as I should). Until they fix it (within a week now, they say), I can't quite make our what you want to know about Mazatlan. Would you Email me? I'll give you whatever specific informations you want.
Always nice to see a comment from you.
Regards.

Mike and I will be heading south for our annual vacation, we have just purchased a place in Cabo, but it is still under construction. This year I chose Mazatlan........we are staying at the Pueblo Bonito. I know that will be great, and welcome any other advise that you have. We were told that it is neat to rent a Jeep and see the countryside also. Great review.
