I purchased a Fuji S5000 digital camera from these guys during the week of October 31, 2003. I was led to them after reading reviews here at Epinions.com.
I paid $329.00 for the camera, which I ordered by phone. On the same day I bought it, I saw the same camera (complete with the exact same accessories) at Radio Shack for $499.00. I was actually going to buy it at Costco earlier that day, but after seeing it at Costco.com for $429.99, I headed to my local Costco in Brookfield, Connecticut, only to be told they didn't have it. They couldn't tell me if they were planning to stock it, or if there were some sitting right at their loading dock for that matter. Once I mentioned I had seen it at 'their' website, the reaction was as if I was talking about a competitor. Like, 'oh well, guess you'll 'have to' order it online.
I did go back online, but my shopping led me to Epinions and 17th Street photo. I saved over $100.00, which I plan to spend on accessories. The process was painless: I called; got a rep right on the phone - happy to answer my questions and confirm this camera wasn't 'gray market', and that it had the standard accessories.
Two days later FedEx Ground pulls up and I have my camera in time to shoot Halloween photos of the kids and E-mail them to my dad out of town.
