Pros: Great array of character classes.
Cons: Battle system needs work.
The Bottom Line: If you do not mind The battle system you'll be ok, with the game. However, there are ways it could be better in my opinion.

| rpgaddict's Full Review: Ogre Battle Limited Edition The March of the Black... |
This game boasts, a brilliant array of job classes(75 in all).An interesting card system, that let's you pick, the kind of leader you are throughout the game. It works like this, Warren a wizard in the game(also a playable character) will ask you a series of questions. After the cards are shuffled ,and you pick cards. The answers given,to each card, will determine the type of main character. The four types of characters are fighter, cleric, wizard, and beast tamer.
From then on you lead bands of warriors to reclaim lands controlled by a merciless empire. Some of these bands you earn through battle , and some you can persuade.Liberating cities, fighting many bands of enemies. Receiving rewards such as tarot cards, from the liberated cities.Fighting Boss battles in each land, were the battles are fought. In one land alone, you may face 40 bands of enemies. Liberate as many as 15 cities, and then fight a boss. Both your band ,and the enemies consist several units.Units such as knights, fighters, berserkers, dragons, octopuses, imps golems, wizards, vampires, and so on.
Potions and armor can be bought in certain cities ,and be sure to stock these items. Believe me you'll need plenty of healing potions. Now comes the bad part. The battle system is based upon formation. Let's say your party is comprised of five units. The units in front will do a certain attack ,and the units in back the same. A wizard in front ,only attacks twice with his staff. In the back he (the wizard) casts a spell. What spell he casts is not up to you.To make matters worse, the formation can not be changed during battle. The battle is strictly automatic.:(
No potions can be used during battle.Only after battle, can healing, and life revitalizing be done. When I play a battle system in this fashion. I truly begin to miss, the variety of battle options, in "FinalFantasy", "Grandia",and "Tactics Ogre" games. To me this game, has so much to make it so great. However the battle system could be much, better. The battle system just deteriorates the game.
