Part 3 of the Mighty Adventures of Bob.
His heart had been racing at the same RPMs as his DeWalt 14.4 Volt Drill. Bob hung up the phone. Jane had said, Maybe some other time. Hes heart beat slowed.
He looked around the house. It was empty. It was always empty. Except for his T-Fal Ultraglide Iron there was no one to return home to. So Bob was alone and as usual had to cook for one.
He had mastered the art of cooking meals for the week ahead. It was easy. Every Sunday night, hed cook two or three different meals and freeze single servings of these meals in Ziploc Freezer Bags. Then along came the Tupperware Rock n Serve System. No more freezer burn
no more defrosting. It became easier and easier for Bob to prepare meals and put them away for the week.
Bob stirred his pop of crawfish etouffee. The onion, garlic, crawfish aroma filled the kitchen. He pick up the Medium Shallow Rock n Serve container. He admired the beauty of the container. Hey, when you live by yourself with only basic cable, even the Tupperware starts to look good! The clear, frosted Lexan container was a sight for sore eyes. The beautiful sky blue lid with the yellow Rock n Serve vent made the container aesthetically pleasing to Bob. His whole set looked wonderful stacked in the freezer with their frosted bottoms, clear sides and blue lids. Each time he opened the freeze he felt so organized.
He easily popped the lid off the medium shallow container and poured in a single serving of crawfish. Bob was thankful for the small handles on the sides of the container that allowed it to stay cool as the hot sauce filled the container. It was then that Bob realized that these containers had to be designed by engineers. On the bottom of the container were four little feet that allowed air to flow freely under the Rock n Serve, allowing the container to cool faster. He was amazed.
He closed the lid with such ease. The lid snapped down into place with little effort. He then opened the vent on the top to allow the food to cool.
Once cooled, Bob snapped the vent closed and walked toward the freezer. He tripped and the Rock n Serve container flew through the air. Just before it hit the ground, Bob closed his eyes. He just knew the container would shatter into thousands of pieces. But this was Tupperware. No way would it shatter. It bounced around and then came to rest on its side. Nothing had spilled. Nothing had cracked. The vent had stayed closed. Bob let out a sigh of relief and placed the crawfish in the freezer.
He knew the beauty of the Rock n Serve system would allow him to take the container from the freezer, pop the vent open and stick it in the microwave. And the handles and little feet would allow him to go straight from the microwave to the table. He could eat right out of the Rock n Serve container. When finished, the dishwasher safe Lexan would allow him to clean up effortlessly.
For Bob this was a genius of a system. Freezer to microwave to dinner table to dishwasher. One container could do all this while looking so good.
Bob had the five piece set: one Large Deep; for main courses, one Medium Deep for side dishes, two Medium Shallows Bob used for single servings and one Divided Dish. The Large Deep has about a 15-cup capacity, while the Medium Deep can hold a little more than six cups. He favorite pieces, the Medium Shallow, holds 2 ½ cups and the Divided Dish has a four-cup capacity.
The Rock n Serve System is truly a magnificent piece of engineering. So versatile, so strong, so beautiful. Bob couldnt wait to bring Jane home to show her his freezer. He knew shed be impressed. And if she saw his T-Fal Ultraglide Iron and felt the 350 inch-pounds of torque of his DeWalt 14.4 Volt Drill it might impress her so much, shed invite him to meet her parents!
