The Rock loses to Apollo Creed in the first one...he doesn't knock his lights out until Rocky II.

I can agree with most of your choices but I strongly believe the the movie "Mystery, Alaska" should be on that list.

I was seriously considering Brian's Song, but truthfully those other movies are out of my time (I am only a teenager), maybe I should rename my selection best sports movies from 1985-2000, thanks for the comment.

It Happens Every Spring, Pride of the Yankees, Brian's Song, Something for Joey just to name a few.

I loved Rudy, and enjoyed most of the movies on your list, but I wouldn't chose many of them over any of the ones listed above.
