Otomix clothing and footwear have come a long way over the past few years. Champion, Everlast, Adidas and Reebok have been three of the biggest names in athletic wear but thanks to high quality standards and impressive lines, Otomix is slowly but surely cruising past the competition. Ask anyone who is into sports what the number one factor is when it comes to picking out clothing or footwear and they will tell you comfort first, price second. Otomix is lucky that a lot of people think this way or they would have gone out of business years ago. If I said it once, I’ll say it a thousand times – you get what you pay for. Personally I’d rather spend more money initially and have a product last for a few years than pay less and have it fall apart or start to look faded or worn. If you haven’t been shopping for high end sport clothing in some time, you might get a slight case of sticker shock when you hit the site. The first time I saw their line of athletic sport shoes I was impressed with the design but the price almost had me laughing in tears – that is until I tried them on and had to have them.
Otomix Online Store
Otomix is one of the larger sport clothing manufacturers. They carry clothing for men, women and children in sized from petite to XXXL so no matter what size you are, you’ll have no trouble finding something just your size at the site. Shoes are what put Otomix on the map but it’s their clothing line that has kept them at the front of the pack. The prices aren’t the most competitive but I will say this, when you purchase something with the Otomix name on it, it is something that you will have around for years regardless of how hard you are on it. Getting around the site is easy but once you leave the main page [www.otomix.com] you will be handed off to the Yahoo storefront that handles the hosting and order processing for Otomix. I was a little hesitant about doing business through a third party like the Yahoo storefront but after I called Otomix and was told that they fulfilled the orders and were the only ones to have my billing information, I decided to give then a try and have been hooked ever since.
The site is fairly basic and easy to navigate. Almost all of the items they have listed for sale have a color photograph, brief description, sizes and colors it is available in and the current price. The sections of the site that are located on the main page are men’s, women’s, children, specials, internet offers and new products. I usually hit the sale section first to see what they have listed then cruise over to the women’s section. While you are at the site you can sign up to receive a free catalog however I am not sure if you have to first register at the site in order to access this section. I signed up for my account then requested a catalog, if you simply want a catalog and can’t get it to accept the form, call the toll free customer service number listed below and give the agent your mailing information. You will also be added to the email list of customers to receive newsletters, promotional information, sales and clearance items. These emails are not frequent and so far I’ve received no spam from sighing up for this newsletter.
Purchases
A few years ago I fell in love with the wrestling style boot that Otomix sells but have had a hard time trying to find them locally. After completely wearing out the pair that I previously owned and not having success finding them in my area I turned to the site to see what styles were still available. Sadly the pair that I owned and subsequently destroyed were no longer manufactured but the Stingray version [http://store5.yimg.com/I/otomix_1766_3831734] was a close cousin. These were a few dollars more than my other pair but offered me a little more support and were in blue instead of white which meant I didn’t have to wash them every few weeks. In addition to the shoes I’ve also purchased sweatshirts, sport bras and sales items both for myself as well as for gifts. The prices might make you fall over but once you wear the clothing and wash it a few times you know where the extra money went. You get what you pay for and when you purchase official Otomix products, you are getting something that will last for years.

Payment Options
The Otomix online store accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover Card and Optima. Charges are placed on your card when your order ships out and when I checked my credit card bill the dates matched up perfectly. I used both MasterCard and Visa when placing orders and had no problem with processing, authorization or being billed an amount other than what was listed on the check out page of my shopping cart. If you are ordering from overseas you will need to fax them some information to verify the shipping address, billing address and your personal information. If you are placing an order within the United States and paying with a major credit card, you will need to contact them about credit card authorization. Be prepared for some trouble if you have your credit card statement sent to an address other than your home, while this isn’t a huge issue, you might want to call in and place your order rather than doing it online since chances are you will probably need to call them anyway.
Return Policy
The return policy isn’t listed at the site and if it is it is so well hidden than after a half hour of looking I had no luck finding it. The policy, as quoted to me by a customer service member and from their packing material, is that you have 30 days to make a return of an item for exchange or refund providing that the item is still in unworn condition. Defective merchandise will be exchanged within the 30 day period for the same or similar item. If you are returning an item you will be responsible for the return shipping fee as well as making sure that it actually gets there and as usual, shipping fees are not refundable. Give the strange and quirky site stipulations, if you are placing a specialty order or have any questions about the return policy, I suggest you contact them before you place an order so you won’t be in for any surprises.
Shipping Information
Shipping fees will vary from order to order depending on the total weight of your order as well as the distance from the warehouse to the delivery destination. My average order ranges from $100.00 - $150.00 and shipping for an order of this dollar amount is in the $15.00 range. To get your shipping fees you will need to create an account and place the items in your online cart to see the specific dollar amount. You can call Otomix to get your delivery zone and shipping fees if you don’t want to play around at the site but you the total you are quoted may differ a few dollars from the actual amount when you go to check out. If you are ordering from overseas, you will need to call to get the exact shipping amount and prices for insurance.
The Bottom Line
If you are a lover of Otomix clothing or footwear and can’t find it locally, the official online store is the next best thing. Dealing directly with Otomix means you are guaranteed to get the quality they have become known for and won’t have to pay another site owner who is carrying their merchandise. The site is pretty basic and easy to navigate but before placing a large order I do suggest calling them in regards to the return policy and credit card concerns. It’s better to take ten minutes to make a phone call than to risk having to waste hours arranging to send things back and arranging a credit card refund. The site is average when compared to others but they do deliver their products in a timely fashion, stand behind their products and manufacture items that last a lot longer than the competition.
