Through my business we at times have to make business arrangements for "entertainers" and the like. Most recently a gentleman who does work at a Disney attraction was needed for a NY gig. We needed to get him flights to and from Orlando Florida to New York. We also needed to set him up with a hotel at the airport.
We went through jetBlue on line services. It was quick, easy to follow and all was finished in just ten minutes or so.
ENGLISH or Espanol
With a quick click you can get your info in either of the two languages. Many of the jetBlue destinations are in highly concentrated Spanish speaking areas. This is good for those people who do not read English or find their native language easier to follow.
A MESSAGE from the CEO
There is a short message telling of the three years plus history of jetBlue and how this dream of bringing "....Humanity back to travel in NY..." became a reality. David Neelman also encourages you to use the sites "Speak Up" area. This is where you can give input on what you would like to see in the company.
GETTING STARTED
It's first good to know of the flight destinations that jetBlue carries too. This can be found with a quick click on Travel and then to destinations or rout maps. This will show you the approximately 21 destinations.
Next you would move on to your search pages. You must enter the usual requests with input of dates and destinations.
There were quite a few options on the run we needed. I liked the fact that with just a quick click you could see the flights of the day before or day after. Prices were from about $89.00 to $180.00 that day. Check the options and travel times for the best deal for you.
CONFIRM
During the process there is a note posted, "Things to Know", telling of why jetBlue has low fares and what you can do to help. It tell that snacks and no dinners come with the flight and suggests you bring your own food.
Be aware of their policies with children traveling alone. A special phone number must be contacted. They post that number on the screen.
As you continue from easy to follow click to click you will be brought to a confirmation page where you must agree to the terms. Most are the usual about cancellation policies, no change of names and the like. "All fares are subject to change until purchase".
CONTINUE ON
Just another click on continue sets up a page that has all the details you need. Be sure to check them carefully. Times and connections are important to get correct.
Once you are sure of all details then get set to pay.
This area is very clearly marked as to who is paying and who is flying. Be sure to add your True Blue member number to collect points. You will be prompted about this a couple of times.
and just where would you like to SIT
Another click on the Reserve Seats Now will give you choice of still available seats. It's clearly defined and also marks emergency doors.
FAX or EMAIL
Once all is complete you can have the itinerary sent to you either by fax or email. My email copy has the flight number with the departing times and arrival times. The Confirmation number is boldly and clearly displayed on the first sheet.
Other sheets will post who booked and payed and who is flying. Pertinent telephone numbers email addresses and fax numbers are listed. The terms and conditions are also printed out.
BOOK a HOTEL
Another click on your screen and jetBlue is hooking you up with hotel reservations. This is actually done through WWTEW, Worldwide Travel Exchange. We needed a place near JFK. We went through the prompting and were easily able to get a room at the Ramada Plaza Hotel just outside the Airport. This is a good 3 star hotel with a restaurant. The charge was $105 plus taxes.
All room requests like bed sizes, grade room, smoking or not, were easy to follow.
An additional confirmation sheet can be faxed or emailed. This sheet has the jetBlue number, and important phone an business numbers. Payment can also be easily done by all major credit cards.
The printout explains how the price DOES NOT include applicable hotel fees, and incidentals like mini-bars and telephones. Nothing was out of the ordinary.
DO it AGAIN
I would use this service in a flash. JetBlue is a good carrier and the online service is easy to follow.
PROUD BLUE FLYERS!
You can also wear jetBlue. hey have an online store with t shirts sweat shirts, hats, baby bibs, patches, carry cases, and even a cool little "jetBlue Airport Playset".
This has a die cast metal plane, 3 ramp vehicles, 2 cargo units and 7 airport safety signs. This is $14.98. There are over thirty items.
