The Bottom Line Be sure to have all necessary documents when on the road.

This is probably the wrong place to post my story, but I couldn't find another appropriate place.

While on my daily runnings, on my only day off, I come up to a check point. A check point is where the local police or motor vehicles check you or your car for safe driving. Either I was car #5 or there was a reason the friendly officer pointed for my car to pull over.

I guess I should start here to tell you about my particular situation. Recently I moved to NJ from Germany, and had my car shipped here. I had my car registered in the state for 2 weeks now. I am awaiting my original insurance card, so I can have my car inspected. I nagged my insurance until I was blue in the face, but thats a whole different Epinion.

Well I am going to assume that it was the temporary bright pink card in my window or I am just a cop magnet that caused the pull over.

After going through a quick inspection by the Police, such as lights, horn and windshield wipers. OK (whew)passed that. Next he asked for my lisence, registration and insurance for my car. I gave him my lisence, and registration, and proceeded to explaine my situation.
I even gave the guy my insurance card from Germany And the letter showing I picked my car up from the port.

I really honestly do not think that he believed me because about 25 minutes, YES, 25 minutes, he shows up with my tickets. Hey buddy can you be more generous?? Anyway, so with me, my husband, my niece, and my daughter sitting there, he proceeds to tell me "You know I could be a jerk, and have this car towed, but here are your tickets and if you decide to plead innocent, show up at court."

I was LIVID, putting it mildly. after saying that, he just walked away. Just then, I called my insurance company, and made them aware of the situation, blaming Everything on them. Which in reality it was their fault, but the cop also had my info in front of him, and me with a clean driving record, you would think a warning would do it right?
Nope.

So now I get to miss a day of work, and go to court, just to let them know that it could have been avoided.

Don't get me wrong, not all Police men and women are on power trips, but I think some of the things they say and do, are not worth MY hard earned tax dollars.
