Pros: Good photo and print quality, reasonable ink useage (with seperate black cartridge).
Cons: Broke after about a month and a half. Hopefully it's a one time thing.
The Bottom Line: Buy it as a nice and relatively cheap photo printer, but keep your packing materials..., just in case.

This was a great printer. I got it as my first picture printing printer, to go with my new 4 MegaPixel camera. There was a "bundle" deal at Costco that seemed reasonable. It was a step up from the previous model, which was reviewed well and originally what I went to buy but was no longer being sold at Costco. This one handled the XD cards from my Olympus camera where the older model didn't, which was a bonus (it will act as a card reader to pull pics from the card to the computer w/o using up the camera battery). Print quality, even on cheap plain paper, was nice for photos. I never got to try it out on the fancy photo paper, some of which is included with the printer. It was fast enough and with the extra black ink only cartridge it seemed to be reasonable in ink use. All was well for a month and a half, then it had problems on power up. Long story short, the mechanism that protects and docks the ink cartridges didn't move any more. After going through the doc at http://h20015.www2.hp.com/hub_search/document.jhtml?lc=en&docName=bpy21042 I was able to get the ink cartridges out, but I couldn't get it to work again. Now it was "undocked" and refused to ever dock again. Recommendation from HP support was to take it back for a replacement. I didn't keep the box so I'm hoping I can do that. I plan to trade this for another 7760 in hopes it was a one time thing.
