Making the Mr Coffee work in a pinch (Reply to this comment)
by lhasaluvers
I also have gone through many Mr Coffee coffee brewers. I have replaced the thermal fuse a couple times and just today I got another one working in a pinch. (Before I had a caffeine fit)
I simply placed a jumper made from a paper clip to bypass the thermal fuse and it worked fine. I know they say it is a safety devise for the unit, but I also thing it is just a wear out part to make you buy a new one. The first ones I replaced the fuse in had only one of them. This on had 2, one right after the other. Why, I don't know.
Just thought I would share this advise.

Got a kick out of this, Freak. How cute, though, that "nameless" cared enough to try to fix the problem.
Have you been in a thrift store, lately? For some reason, they're usually full of these and other carafes. Seems like most of their customers keep the carafes and throw away the pots. lol, but true.
Great review and I concur with your reasoning.
