We all have two arms. It is common. It is accepted. You can do a lot of things and have a lot of fun with your two arms. But imagine if you could have five or six arms. You could have loads more fun. This is the case with the Playstation 2 and the multitap.
I personally thought that is was stupid of Sony not to have four controller ports on the PS2 (from the consumer stand-point, not the business). It only makes the consumer made and adds to the con list when thinking about the system. But just as every good thing have a bad side; some bad things have good sides. It might not have four controller ports but you have to think that where as the N64, Dreamcast, X-box, and the Gamecube all have four, that’s the most that can play. The PS2 can have two multitaps and have up to eight.
Well enough talking about the system, the multitap. It is a box that comes out from the controller port and supports four memory cards and five controllers. The five controllers are interesting because the official Sony multitap doesn’t even have five, but the standard four. The tap preformed all well can be expected. There isn’t that much that can be said about an accessory. It worked. My friends and I ran the thing though its paces too. Timespliters, Tekken Tag Tournament, and DOA2, multi-player action till about four in the morning. I have heard that the fifth port doesn’t always work but I haven’t tried it, so I don’t think that I should talk about it.
The only complaint that I saw with it was the cord was a little short and the stubby. Now normally I like stubby things, hehe, but if you have a short table or you PS2 is near the edge of the table, like I think most are, you could be annoyed. The cord is stiff so it won’t rest on top of the PS2. It has to rest in front of it. A little annoyance but something that could be improved.
However it does NOT improve you skillz, as eonneon can tell you.
