| hughcox's Full Review: Hewlett Packard LaserJet 8150n Laser Printer |
After purchase of the HP LaserJet 8150, I encountered several irritating problems. No doubt, HP's description of the printer's heavy duty capability is accurate, The print quality is superb. The print speed is dramatic even when the printer is "asleep" before printing.
The problems:
1. Envelopes fed through top tray one are generally pressed so flat that "wrinkles" appear in most printed envelopes. If the wrinkle develops on the envelope in the printed area, printing can be smudged.
2. Tray one will NOT accommodate business check printing (landscape) since the guides do not close to that check size.
3. The printer weighs about 115 pounds even with trays and cartridge removed. One person cannot handle the printer without risk to printer and self. A roll-around cart is essential.
4. The printer is loud while running and almost as loud when asleep. The printer fan affects the noise environment of a room. The printer is best placed in a room where conversations are not required.
