Pros: Good functional design, excellent Photo prints,
Excellent Warranty support center.
Cons: Min. software issues, 6 cartridges cost $70+ & not in most 24x7 stores yet.
The Bottom Line: For the semi-pro Photo bug this is an excellent quality producing work horse.

| belowhz's Full Review: Canon i950 Inkjet Printer |
Work Environment:
The unit was purchased for Digital photo printing and is used heavily. It has so far ran more than 325 8x10 Hi-Res Photos prints through it in an 3-month period cartridges.
Mechanics:
Paper feeds smoothly and consistently, which is very important for Hi-Res photo printing. However, the paper dispenser still only holds a small amount of paper. The model is not as quiet when compared to other vendor models. The print head design (ink holder/dispenser) design and Microfine Droplet Technology is successful in heavy use and high quality photo prints.
Software:
Comes with setup and usage software on a CD, requiring lots of space to load all features. The software, while having many positive features tends to add unnecessary repetitive steps to the printing process and becomes an irritation when doing multiple prints.
Ink:
Cartridges are common and the average cost is $10.98 each (6x) in computer stores. Ink consumption was average ink when compared to other similar models.
Note: Does not take well to do-it-yourself refilled cartridges & inks.
Papers:
Accepts all popular Photo & paper types (eg Kodak, Royal, SAMs & etc..) little or no bleed through when using copier papers.
Print Quality:
Produces excellent photos and crisp color printouts.
Inks tend to bleed if not allowed to dry before handling or another printout is to quickly laid on top another during multiple printouts. Not a speed demon, but a constant quality producer.
Design:
A good proven design. Easy to change cartridges, Paper adjusts for different types can require opening lid for switch and manual adjustment of pincher tabs.
Support:
Previous dealings with Canon support staff have been quick and a pleasure.
