I was introduced to the One Hanes Place website when I got an email offer from My Points. The offer was for free shipping with a $30.00 order and 800 points credited to my My Points account. Since I wanted to look for some one piece, all cotton sport bras I figured why not give the site a try and get some extra points [and free shipping] in the process. Since I trust the My Points site to always carry awesome deals and promote vendors that are on the up and up I wasn’t hesitant about ordering from them and looked forward to checking out the site. I really didn’t expect to find a lot of items that would fit me since I am on the tall and muscular side but as luck would have it, there were more than a few things that I saw, fell in love with and ordered.

If you think that all this site sells is bras and panties, you’ll be in for a real shock the first time you visit. Yes they do sell almost every imaginable style of bra and panty but they also have men’s fashions, kids clothing, stockings, athletic wear, robes, flannel pants and more. Each of the sections provide you with color photos, material information, sizing, pricing and washing instructions. Most of the photos can be enlarged so you can get a better view and the “email a friend” feature is nice when you want to give someone a gentle nudge at what you want for a birthday or holiday. The first thing you will want to do is to create a free account at the site, you can enter your shipping information so the next time you visit the site all you have to do is enter your username and password and all your information is right there. You can store your credit card information but this is not necessary to create an account.
Getting around the site is fairly easy and the navigational tabs at the top of the pages make it easy to switch between the different sections. If you like, you can request a printed catalog be sent to you. You can also use the catalog numbers to place orders for items that may not be listed at the site or for quicker ordering. I really like the fact that I can track my orders directly through the site and don’t have to access another website to get the information I want. After you place an order you will get a confirmation email then another one when your order has been filled and shipped, this email is the one that will contain your tracking number. If you have any trouble accessing the information, call customer service and they will be more than happy to help you out. If your order needs to ship separately, you will be notified via email and receive subsequent emails when the other items ship out.
Prices
Overall the prices are average for the quality of goods you receive. There is a closeout section of the site where you can pick up items that are on sale or clearance as well as seasonal gifts, bedding and bargains. The sport bras that I ordered were about $15.00 a piece and have washed very well so far. Sport clothing isn’t bountiful at the site but there are a few styles to choose from. Some people might look at the prices and think that they are on the high side, in some cases they are but generally they are par for the course. You aren’t getting cheap garments here and they will stand up to a lot of wear before they start to show signs of aging. The Hanes products I have purchased in the past at retail stores have always impressed me with the amount of abuse they took and I see no difference between the merchandise they sell at the site and the items sold at retail locations.
Payment Options
The site currently accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover Card for purchases. If you choose to pay by check you will need to mail in your order to the address listed below as they do not currently offer a check by phone payment option. I have used both MasterCard and Visa at the site and have had no problems with processing or credit card approval and the amount charged matched the amount quoted when I completed the order. When you create your account prior to placing an order you do have the option to add your billing information and have it stored on their server. If you are overly paranoid you can skip this option and enter the credit card information at the time of your check out.
Return Policy
Hanes doesn’t fool around when it comes to making their customers happy. If you don’t like it, they don’t want you to keep it. On the back of your invoice you will see the return information, just pop it in the box [if you have worn it they do kindly ask that you wash it before you return it] and send it back to them. I have never had to make a return but it is nice to know that they have this much confidence in their merchandise to offer sure a gracious return policy. I looked over the packing material from my recent order and couldn’t find a time limitation [most sites offer a 30 day return period] so I would suggest calling them if you suddenly have a problem with something that you have had for a while.

Customer service help is available at the site by filling out one of their handy online forms. In most cases you will receive a reply within 24 hours however most of mine were answered in less that that time frame. If you need help placing an order, with an existing order or shipping information, please call their toll free customer service line.
Shipping Fees
I wasn’t all that enthused with the sipping fees that they charge – especially when you consider you are paying for standard [ground] delivery. The base fee is $5.95 for orders under $20.00 and increase one dollar for every additional twenty dollars worth of merchandise you order. The most you will pay is $11.29 for orders over $150.00 and you can expedite your order / bump it up to Priority Mail for an additional $6.00 [flat fee regardless of order size]. Depending on where you live, you may have to pay a tax on your purchase. Residents of California will get zapped with 7.25%, Tennessee 9.25 and Massachusetts 5% but only on items that cannot be worn. Additionally, those living in North Carolina and Texas will be charged an additional tax on items purchased.
The Bottom Line
So far I am pretty pleased with the site, customer service, delivery time and quality of goods. The only real negative would be the shipping fees but the more you order, the less expensive it gets … sort of. This is a great site to browse and the images take a minimal amount of time to load. No dead links, no pop up advertisements and no nudity. If you are having trouble finding the items you want locally, check out the website. If you are still at a loss, call customer service for more assistance. Be sure to check the sale and closeout sections to make your cyber shopping dollar stretch a little father and be on the look out for free shipping codes!
