I really wonder... (Reply to this comment)

whether email alerts will ever be up & running or not.

PS: I added you to my WOT the other day but, honestly, I just saw you as a Mom who believes in some of the same things as I (breastfeeding, eg) so thought you would be, well, trustworthy!
I also do not expect to be placed on someone's WOT just because I placed them on mine & I certainly hope that most others feel the same way.
Another thing is that I do not feel obligated to read recent opinions from everyone who has placed me on their WOT just because they did so.
I know a lot of epinioners feel as I do but, unfortunately, so many do not.

I just wanted to let you know, I have added you to my notification list. I have read just a couple of your pieces and I think that you are grasping English very well - which is quite a feat! I never realize how difficult English is to learn until I started teaching my 4 year old to read and write.
Also, I really like the fact that you will stand up for yourself. You seem very intelligent and willing to share your opinion even if it is not the most popular one. Take care.

The WOT isn't almost sacred, to some. To me it is, however, because due to my personality and goals in life I feel a huge responsibility to those who have me on their own trusted lists. I know that once I am added, they will see reviews from people that I trust first. Therefore, I don't want to trust people that I wouldn't honestly recommend to my friends. Does that make sense? I really don't know a clearer way to explain it, unless I could import you into my brain for a moment. Unfortunately, I think most people would turn psychotic at that point *g*
Thanks for the comment, and I hope maybe I cleared it up a little.

This is a great review.... (Reply to this comment)

for anyone new to epinions and need guidance on what a WOT is and how it can be used. Most have no idea about a WOT or a WOD. I have to admit, I find both humorous when trying to explain the importance. Thanks for a great editorial! :0)

Interesting, your review I mean. But I fail to understand why WOT is considered almost sacred?

Hello! (Reply to this comment)

It is very interesting reading. Thanks for sharing your view.
My reason to be here is somewhat overlapping with yours. Namely, the skill training part. Probably, my future goal is to be added to your WOT, though it seems difficult due to the differences in our styles.
To be more specific, though I agree on the grammar, wordings, and style parts, the "agreement" policy is not in my scope. I don't care the topic and the vector of the opinion.
Anyway, it was good reading. Thanks.

These all seem like extremely valid points to me. I totally agree that it is okay to be a bit discriminating with your WOT. I encounter tons of great writers in the "Just In" section all the time, but when I look at their profile, see that they write most of their opinions in categories that really do not have much place in my life, so I feel weird adding them to my WOT.
Also, I think looking at how they rate and the comments they leave is very important! I wouldn't want to have a revenge rater on my WOT or, conversely, someone who rubber stamps awful reviews with a VH.
Good essay!
