The Bottom Line EBAY is great for both the buyer and seller, and most importantly, EBAY makes it easy to buy and sell anything you want.

Other auction sites just can’t match up to the strength and greatness of EBAY. With over 4.3 million items to choose from and thousands more being added each day, how are auction companies supposed to compete with that! It’s almost impossible to not find what you are looking for. And you would be surprised at how much money you can get for something you were just going to throw away. An old set of trading cards made me $1000!
EBAY does take a portion of the money that you sell, but we’re talking about a $.50 - $2.00 previous charge and a 1%…final charge…come on, I'm sure taking 1% of your earnings won’t kill you…plus, try finding a better deal than that!
Buying
Purchase one of the millions of items off of EBAY from these categories:
- Antiques and Art
- Books
- Clothing and Accessories
- Coins
- Collectibles
- Computers
- Dolls, Dollhouses
- Home and Garden
- Jewelry and Gemstones
- Movies
- Music
- Photo and electronics
- Pottery and glass
- Real estate
- Sports
- Stamps
- Tickets and Travel
- Toys and Hobbies
- Miscellaneous
Simply search these categories for the item you are looking for, and when you find the item you wanted, start bidding! I find this the fun part… Just how high are YOU willing to go? How bad do you want that Michael Jordan Basketball card?
After the bidding closed and you are announced as the top bidder, to have made your first step in purchasing a product. EBAY sends an email to both you and the seller, and then you email then seller. From there, street addresses are transferred, and payment is negotiated. Poof! Easy as that. You have that Jordan card you’ve always wanted!
Selling
EBAY does an excellent job guiding you through, step by step, the process of selling an item. First, you choose a category and subcategory that your item fits under. The next page is a step-by-step questionnaire. The questionnaire asks:
- Title of product
- brief description
- URL of a photo
- Item location
- how many of the item you have
- minimum bid
- auction duration
- reserve bid
Fill out these simple steps and you are on your way to making some money! You will be notified of the highest bidder once the bidding has closed, and from there, its up to you to exchange information with the buyer.
Problems that you might run into
Problems do come up, however they are rare due to EBAY’s many systems of working out kinks.
Safeharbor
This is the “police” of EBAY. If there are any complaints, on the buyer’s or seller’s side of a bargain. These guys check it out, and work out a solution. Whether the seller sends the worn product or the buyer ends cash instead of a check, Safeharbor works out most of the kinks in the end.
feedback
See how much everyone else trusts the person you are buying/selling to! This option allows you to view a brief opinion on that EBAY user. A used gets a rating of positive, negative or neutral depending on how they handle transactions.
I can find anything I want on EBAY, and not have to worry about excruciating processes to purchase or sell an item. Everything you need to know is either right in front of you or easy to find, and if you can’t find it, asking an EBAY user will always work out. Enjoy this site, and use it to you advantage! Enjoy!
