Mazatlan is in the State of Sinaloa, and when my daughter graduates from High School I plan to be retiring to Angostura - a four hour drive away - to live with my ex in-laws. Mazatlan has the scenic advantage of hills as well as coastline and beaches. The Cathedral on the plaza in el centro is absolutely breathtaking, and shopping is always fun as long as you remember to dicker. Buying at the quoted price is definitely declasse in Mexico. You and Mike both have a ball. I envy you.
