The Bottom Line Movies need to leave an impression on you. These movies all left an impression on me

Of all the reviews that I have written, I think this one is the one I shall enjoy the most. This is the one that I get to give the proper credit to some of the greatest epics ever put to film. This is a list of my all time favs, regardless of genre. I have always said that in order for a movie to be timeless it has to leave a lasting impression on you. The best movies make you laugh, cry, or sometimes just make you take a closer look into your own soul and reevaluate your morals and values. These movies in my opinion do that. Now as I said before, these movies are listed and it is not listed by Genre, so here we go

10. Beauty and the Beast (Disney) This was the best animated motion picture to be put out by Disney. It was well written, and just a masterpiece to behold. It is tragic that Disney has almost refused to re-release it to video, but at least it can still be rented. The action was great, and Disney did a great job of presenting the beast. Even though he was ugly to behold, his heart was good and it was Belle's love that released him. Great movie overall

9. Braveheart- This movie was just stunning to behold. Mel Gibson really pulled out all the stops for this movie. Great story, brutal battle scenes, and a timeless hero. The message of the movie kinda hits home with all of us, "Everyman dies, but not everyman truely lives"

8. Fight Club- Until recently I was not a Brad Pitt fan. I hated everything this guy did. After watching this flick, Brad is tha man. This movies was just messed up. It was one of those movies that you had to watch twice to get. It takes a very interesting look at metally unbalanced people and shows how the old Jekyl and Hyde idea still can work. I promise if I ever see Brad Pitt telling me to blow something up....well you get the picture!

7- Exorcist- This movie is a horror classic. Director Billy Fredkin does a masterful job of coverting Willam Peter Blatty's novel onto the big screen. Who can forget the sight of Reagan masterbating with a cross, or her head spinning and vomiting green pea soup. This movie had great effects as well as a great story. We all felt a chill run down our spine when Reagan speeks to Fr. Karras in his dead mothers voice. Just one of the greatest and unnerving classics of all time

6. The Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Ring- The first in the series of screen adaptations by Peter Jackson. Tolkens Epic comes alive with stunning visuals, Masterful performances by all actors involved, and a wonderful score. I am eagerly awaiting the next movie which comes out on the 18th of December. What I liked the most was that Peter Jackson did not go the Political Correct route in this featre. He stayed true to the Spirit of Tolken, and in effect created his masterpiece

5. Gladiator- Ridley Scott does it again. He proves in this movie that he is extremely versitile. He also proves that he is an extremely streaky director. His movies are sort of a hit and miss. He puts out some great stuff, and then he puts out some duds. This movie is a Hit. Great performances by Russell Crowe and everyone else involved. This movie hits you because you see a man broken, but yet rises above his situation to overcome his nemesis. Great movie, great action, great fun

4. Black Hawk Down - Again, Ridley Scott. The thing that hit me about this movie is that it really mad me mad. It should anger any red blooded american to see some of our military abandoned behind emeny lines after falling into a trap. Now weather you agree with war or not, this is a true story, and these are our guys, our brothers that were abandoned by our then administration. This movie shows not only heroics, but also Faithfulness. For No one gets left behind.
3. Spiderman - Ok I will admit, I was extremely hesitant to see this one. I have gotten pumped up before over comic book hero's coming to the big screen, and have been let down. Not this time. Tobey Mcguire(Sp) was just awsome as Peter Parker. and William Defoe was simply sinister as Green Goblin. and ofcourse Kirsten Dunst(Sp) was breathless as Mary Jane. The story was great, the action was great. My only fault with them movie was they had Macy Grey singing in it, oh well I guess they were running low on cash and could not afford to get some real talent to perform.

2. The Empire Strikes Back - Ok I could not list my favorite movies with out listing my favorite of the Star Wars movies. This movie just blows you away. The actors performances in this movie improved so much over Star Wars. Compairing the performance would be like compairing a kindergarden play to a broadway musical. The story also had so much more depth to it. Alot of people did not like this because it was much more darker than the previous one. But we needed that darkness. Empire was the cold shower we need sometimes to return us to reality. Who can forget Darth Vader telling Luke that he was his Father.... Awsome!

1. Gone With the Wind. Surprise!!! Well anyone that has seen this Gem sould not be. This is the movie that set the standard for movies for a long time after its release. From its lush locations, to its unforgetiable lines, to Scarlett pitching a fit. Everything in this movie just seemed to fit. It is truely timeless and has stood the test of time. For this reason I believe it deserves to be at the top of my list.

Well here you go, my list of the best movies ever made. I have not seen alot of movies, so this list is based on what I have seen. I like all types as one can tell from my list. But the one thing that stands out about these movies is that they all left a lasting empression on me, weather good or bad. I hope this list helps someone to enjoy this precious gift that is the motion picture
