Upon arriving in Venice exhausted due to missed flights and lost luggage, we were delighted to find our run of bad luck had lifted. The Sofitel Venezia is a fantastic choice, subtly elegant and exceptionaly accomodating. Not quite in the middle of the tourist swarm, it was refreshing to stroll the 10 minutes back from major destinations through a quiet, local neighborhood. Our room was tastefully decorated with a lovely view. My boyfriend and I enjoy sampling different areas of a city when revisiting, however we both agree that the Sofitel will be our first choice when returning to Venice.
