The Spongebob Summary:
This is Fuji's USB 2.0 portable drive, with an whopping 1 GB. You can hold the whole wide world in the palm of your hand! Ok, not really...but, you can hold a lot of stuff. If you don't have USB 2.0 don't fret, it's backward compatible.

Fuji's Portable Storage:
So, what is it...
Fuji makes a wide variety of USB portable drives, everything from 64 MB to this 1 GB drive to meet all your storage needs. And it does not require software, batteries or electricity. Just plug it into your computers USB port. Each Fuji USB Drive has a lifetime warranty.
And, how's it work...
Simple plug it into an available USB port and your computer will automatically detect it as a removable disk and assignes it a drive letter. All you have to do is drag and drop the files you want to the drive, or save the files to it like you would with any hard drive. It's very easy.
How fast is it...
Transfer speed for USB 1.1 is 1 MB/sec (read) and 0.85 MB/sec (write). For USB 2.0 transfer speed is 4 MB/sec (read) and 3 MB/sec (write).
But I don't need 1 GB...
All your needs are met by the entire line of USB drives that Fuji provides: 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1GB (USB 2.0); 32MB, 64MB (USB Drive 1.1). And if you don't have USB 2.0 but want high capacity drives, don't worry they're backwards compatible with USB 1.1!
I use Mac & PC computers...
That's cool. Fuji's USB drives allow you to easily store both PC and Mac files and transfer them between each as needed. There's no software installation needed! It works with the latest Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.
What can I store...
You can store Files, Photos, Music and Videos. Anything that's important to you! Just drag and drop! You can hold literally thousands of files! Unless you're storing videos, then it'll be only a handful or less.

Conclusion:
So should you choose the Fuji 1GB drive? I think so. I chose it for an obvious reason - 1 GB of drive space!! For $279, you get a very large capacity portable USB drive. I think they are very handy. Maybe my friends and I are just geeks but we use the high capacity FujiFilm 1 GB USB Drive to bring music to parties, because we all have our computers hooked up to tight a$$ systems, and you can make really good play lists. I recommend buying it online because you'll get a much better deal, I've seen it in stores for as much as $450!
One thing I wouldn't recommend is using this as a backup hard drive. It seems pointless to save stuff on it then set it somewhere and never use it. These types of drives are designed to be used frequently...transporting files to and fro. I often use it to save homework assignments for college so I never have to say I forgot my paper. But I use it most for music.
