Hello Nikonians,
The Nikon D100 is on the way next day air. I just wanted to let everyone know about the very positive buying experience I had with ePhotocraft and Eldar in particular. I called him two weeks ago to confirm that all the items which I wanted to purchase were in stock and that the D100 with v2.0 firmware was available. Even though he knew right up front that I was not going to be buying anything on that day he took all the time I needed for questions without making me feel like I was wasting his time, like just about all the camera stores in NY do. Eldar was a true professional as far as I'm concerned. He was very polite (almost too polite, he kept calling me sir and I had to let him know that I had been a Sergeant, not an Officer);), he was knowledgeable and did not in any way try to "upgrade" or pull any of the other stupid stuff that MANY of the other photo outlets try.
About an hour ago I called and placed an order for, the D100, MB-D100, 512card, SB-800 and a few other knick-knacks. In the long run I saved over $100 (which was promptly eroded by next day air..need it for a job Tuesday) but most importantly, I saved more than that in the lack of aggravation. Simply put, I was treated as if I was standing across the counter from him and he really cared that I got what I want and didn't get what I don't need. Kudos!
In the 30 years that I have been dealing with camera gear and the like, I have never been treated this good and fairly. Don't get me wrong, I've had good experiences in the past, but this one just stands out. My feeling is that, whenever possible, we should get behind ePhotocraft and buy from them to benefit us all by lower prices and spot on service. If you are a newbie in photography I HIGHLY recommend them to get you going WITHOUT getting ripped off.
