| ohiodad's Full Review: Canon i860 Photo Bubble Jet Printer 23/16ppm Print... |
If you are looking for a quality printer for your home computer, look no more because the Canon i860 is exactly what you need.
The features :
Maximum resolution of 4800 x 1200 color dpi
Speeds of up to 23 ppm in black, up to 16 ppm in color
The ability to directly print from a Canon Camera
A 4x6 photo feeder for easy photo printing.
Easy-PhotoPrint and Easy-WebPrint software
5 color ink system for laser-like printing
Borderless photo printing
What that translates into is this:
This printer prints amazing lifelike photos that your family and friends will wow at when you tell them you printed the picture on a printer and didn't have it developed. The 5 color ink system makes this possible. No longer are colors mixed together to create black like they were in the old printers, now the Canon is capable of using black in from the black cartridge. What does this mean? It means that you won't see those stripes and lines when you print a picture taken at night. The 5 ink system is also great because now when I run out of one color, I don't have to go out and buy a $35 color cartridge. I can buy a new Cyan color cartridge for $10 and notice that my red and yellow is still almost full. Before I would have thrown away that red and yellow extra because I was out of cyan. It's great that Canon is thinking of the consumer and actually saving us some money for a change!
This printer is quick. Amazingly quick compared to my previous printer a HP 895. As you can see from the speeds listed above there aren't many inkjets that'll beat it.
The software is easy to use especially when you add a Canon camera to the mix. You have the ability to hook the camera straight to the printer via cable included with the camera and print directly from the camera. It works pretty well for my wife who is not too thrilled with having to use the computer to print her pictures. She loves it. I however still use the computer as I like the ability to edit, crop, and rotate my pics.
The pictures this machine prints are beautiful. With it's speed, it's sleek design, and it's straight through jam-free design it's a printer that will get the job done.
