Pros: Very few dropped calls, great customer service, decent coverage, good price.
Cons: Extra services (text messaging, web browsing) extra cost and really add up.
The Bottom Line: I can definitely recommend Qwest at this time. For the price, I can't find anything even close and their service is great.

| billm12345's Full Review: Qwest Mobile Phone Service in Denver/Colorado Spri... |
I have been with Qwest for around two years now. I had Sprint for the three years before that and due to Sprint's incredibly lousy service, I almost swore off ever getting another cell phone.
The Qwest service was a pleasant surprise. Around the same time period I had many problems with Qwest DSL and home phone service so I was concerned about their cell service. I ended up going with them because I use a lot of minutes and they were, and still are, the most cost effective.
I started with an 800/3000 minute plan but I kept going over my minutes, so after several $300 phone bill surprises, I finally ended up on the plan that I have now- the unlimited plan.
I would also like to give kudos to Qwest customer service regarding this. Twice during the first year, I received an unexpected call from Qwest. The customer service rep said that they had noticed that I was about to go over my minutes and wanted to know if I would be interested in getting a plan with more minutes rather than paying 30 cents a minute for the overage.
At the beginning the hold times for customer service were long but now I find that I usually get through in a few minutes. I don't know if Qwest had gotten in trouble with the PUC or just has new management or whatever, but for the past year, their service has really improved. At the end of each call they say that their goal is good customer service and they ask if they have achieved that goal. And while they almost always try to sell me a new service or option, they also are very good about evaluating my usage (home/DSL/cell) and suggest cheaper options as well.
Currently, I use between 2500 and 3500 minutes a month. So, for me the bottom line is reliability. With Sprint I was just about ready to go postal before I switched to Qwest. With Qwest, I find that I very rarely get dropped calls, even with my usage rate. I find that it is common to be on a single call for close to an hour and not have the call dropped. Overall, I probably get less than five dropped calls a month.
The coverage is very good as well. I used to get dropped calls on one part of C470 regularly but Qwest seems to be working on the few problem areas they have.
I haven't tried the extra's like text messaging or web browsing due to the extra cost.
Before two months ago, I would've listed lack of nationwide coverage as a con, but I am told that they now have it. I have not traveled out of state since then so I can't comment on this part.
