Just yesterday I asked my 15 year old son. What do you want me to show you before you leave!!
He didn't answer me phone on one ear computer below his fingers.
Its time to learn to do your laundry!
Thanks

I also read the Parade article. One of my upcoming articles is children and chores which I think intertwines with this. My boys started helping wash the dishes at ten along with several other chores that help them learn how to manage a home of their own. ~ They don't do everything but they are being taught how to do everything.
Good article ;0) Keep up the nice work!

And both my husband and I said "Thanks" to our parents. Neither one of us knew how to do everything on that list when we left high school. But we both knew a lot and we knew where to learn the stuff we needed to know. Hubby swears if you can read you can cook. Ok, it is a little more complicated than that but if you have the basics like "what is a sauce pan, a skillet, and a measuring cup" he's got a point. I sure didn't know how to change oil but I knew all about cutting coupons to get the best deal on an oil change.
Good summary and well thought out.
