This is my second year in a row using Walmart.com for part of my holiday shopping. For the second year in a row, part of my order will be late. It wasn't a big deal last year as I knew this in advance and was able to work around it. This year however, I did not know that the most important part of my order, my son's present, wouldn't arrive until Dec. 30.
I received a shipping confirmation email for his gift on Dec. 20 saying it had shipped and would arrive between Dec. 22nd and Dec. 24th. I checked the tracking at the UPS website today and it said "Scheduled for delivery Dec. 30". I sent an email to their customer service and received a reply assuring me it had shipped on Dec. 20 and would arrive today. I called their toll free number to resolve this and was told "Sorry, it won't be there until around the 30th. There's really nothing we can do about this. You can call back on Friday to see if you are eligible for a shipping credit" When I asked about the email saying it had shipped four days ago, I was again told to call Friday.
As far as selection and price, they seem to have a tremendous selection at good prices and I probably will do business with them again but I want to advise future walmart.com shoppers not to count on them for time sensitive delivery.
Update Dec. 25 - 5PM: They sent another email saying "We would like to inform you that you will be receiving your order by the Christmas."
