Pros: Solid, Powerful, Crystal Clear picture and sound, Great games, great control
Cons: Honestly none... I could nitpick but I am not going to ... Great job Tapwave!
The Bottom Line: Buy it if you have a PDA and are looking to upgrade. If you don't have a pda by now, you probably don't need one...

Ok,
I have to admit it, I am a technology junkie. If there is a new gadget out there that I feel could streamline my day I feel an urge to acquire it...
Back in 1996 I saw a product on the market by a very unlikely player... US Robotics. Until then the company was really only known for its abilities in the modem and networking enviroments. Because I was in sales (and was able to justify the purchase) I went to the store and picked up my first Pilot (Now known as Palm). At the time the device was powered by a motorola chip and had only 512K of memory (that was the bigger one).
It was small and gray and had a non-backlit monochrome screen. I paid around 499 for the device and fell in love with it. The fact that I could instantly access all of my contacts, date book events and to do items was fantastic. I was the "first one on the block (in the office)" to have one and after that more than 15 people in my sales department went out and bought them.
Since that time I have upgraded a few times but have really not seen any fantastic developments to the design.
Enter the Zodiac, from a little company named Tapwave. This little device is terrific. I never really wanted to change the core capabilites of my little machine from 1996. This machine comes with 128Meg of memory. (Which seems like a lot but get this). I have over 1200 contacts (which I synched up with Outlook), I have 4 videos (with sound) one of them is 6 minutes long. I have a dozen pictures of my wife and kids, and a half hour of cd quality music stuffed into it and there is still plenty of room for more.
Oh yeah, I also have about a dozen games in there like Spy Hunter, Solitaire, Bowling, Billiards, and many others, and the graphics are brilliant. They are actually really fun games to play. I am looking forward to my next flight so I can dazzle the person sitting next to me...
My machine sits in a cradle next to my bed. I have the charger set up so it charges overnight. (The batteries last 14+ hours of continuous use). The reason it is on my nightstand is that it pulls double duty as a great alarm clock. It even can be set to wake you up to your favorite MP3 song. As an MP3 player it has an edge over many that are out there. It comes with stereo speakers that are actually quite good, given the size.
This machine is a no lose proposition folks. If you are reading this review you obviously have been intrigued and are considering buying a new PDA. Well this machine is priced lower than most high end PDA's and it does much more.
I had it up and running on my Fuitsu notebook in about 10 minutes. I bought a product called intellisync to make it work with Outlook. All told, It cost me less than 500. (I spent less on this than I did on the Pilot 5000 more then 7 years ago)
I'll be posting reviews of some of the games when I get a chance. Many people might be looking at this like a game Boy, Don't. My kids each have one and this machine is a PDA. And a damn good one. It also happens to play games better than any pda or portable game system on the planet. Why? because it is more powerful. I do TV commercials as a side business and I have put demos of them on this to show to prospective clients... I've never been able to do that easily with a pda before. This was a cinch.
Go Now, Buy this product. Its small, sleek, Metal and will last you many years. I've seen good solid equipment before... this is it. Seriously...
By the way. I do employee benefits and in no way have anything to gain from hyping the product... I am just amazed at how good it is...
