you have to be ready to make that change...Apr 05 '01 (Updated Feb 19 '03) Write an essay on this topic.The Bottom Line The best way to choose a weight loss program is to get all the information you can, then make a decision There are so many diets out there, you've got Weight Watchers, Nutri System and Jenny Craig to name a few, and then you've got all the different woman's magazines pushing diets, you've also got the cabbage soup diet, Atkins, the grapefruit diet, Slim Fast... I could go on for awhile, since I've tried most of them! First thing you should do is visit your doctor and have a complete physical, tell him you want to lose weight and see what he or she recommends, once he or she gives the okay, then start researching. Before joining Weight Watchers, I talked to several people who had done different diet programs, I surfed the web for information, and finally came to the decision that Weight Watchers was going to be the one for me. Weight Watchers is different from the rest, they're teaching you how to eat properly. Weight Watcher's doesn't refer to themselves as a diet, they refer to themselves as a lifestyle change. Believe me, theres a difference. I've done Jenny Craig, I ate the prepackaged food, I lost my 70lbs and felt great and walked out the door. They don't offer much in the way of maintenance, I believe now they do, but when I was going there, they didn't. I gained all the weight back, since once I stopped eating the food, I went back to the way I had been eating in the first place. With Weight Watchers, you learn how to eat again, granted we all know HOW to eat, thats why were there in the first place, but they teach you that any food is okay, in moderation. Thats the key word, moderation. It works for me, and believe me, if i can do it, ANYONE can!! I've lost 47lbs as of 4/4/01. So if you're ready to make that change, visit your doctor, do your research and then decide what program you want to use.  |
