Bullet Space pen (Reply to this comment)
by pjdmd
I like the Bullet pens b/c they are quite small with no sharp edges and fit quite nicely in my pants pocket. This way, I'm sure to always have a pen at hand.
The bullet shape is quite nice, comfortable. When I get angry at one of my patients I can use it as a suppository and jam it where I please.

The refill seems to run out soon. Not soon enough to not purchase again, but much shorter than, say, a Parker GoldenTouch refill. I'm finding the Sensa refills, also made my Fisher may be better than the original! or maybe I'm talking out of my rectum.
They do write smoothly. no complaints there.
The bullet pens seem to let the refill come loose once in a while, bugs the haedes out of me. I'll unscrew, then rescrew, and they will be tight again, can't explain, but fixes it.

Overall, I'm quite pleased with the Fisher pens. they don't seen to last as long as others, but are quite smooth. The Bullet pen specifically is a must to own, as it is quite easy to carry.

P.S. beware of the Fisher X750 in anodized colors, they scratch easily. I'll buy the silver or chrome next.

Fisher Refills (Reply to this comment)

Mookie --

I also love my Fisher Space Pen and love the fact that, unlike many pens it comes with a fine line refill. However, I understand what you're saying about a thick dark line . . . the two would be nice together but I'm not sure that's possible. However, you might want to try the "bold line" refill. They are the only ones I've seen with this option. It comes in fine, medium, and bold . . . might be the solution you're looking for! :-)

By the way, as a pen enthusiast, you may want to check out Sharon Luggage if you're in or near North Carolina . . . great pen counter! Or, of course, just go to www.sharonluggage.com

Have a great day!

Globbing (Reply to this comment)

Nice review!

I've had several Space Pens. My problem is I keep losing them! But, that's my problem.

I have had some "globbing" on some refills. So, the system is not perfect.

But, it's a great design and very practical.

hi marc! yes, i love pens! they are one of my obsessions :) as much typing as i do, i have started to write with pen and paper more too. there's just something very real about putting something on paper in one's own writing. and a good pen is what is needed for that. i write too fast (and am too impatient) for fountain pens, but they do facinate me a lot. gels are very good pens!

From the sounds of it, you're quite the pen enthusiast. Its good to know that there are other ones out there. Personally, I tend to fall for more of the fountain/dip pens out there rather than the ballpoint/rollerball variety, though when you're in a quick writing situation nothing really beats a good gel pen (if I'm not using my fountain pens, those are my favorites).
