My kids are getting older and I need to keep more food in the house so I wanted a Freezer for Christmas, but I didn't want to go out shopping or pay delivery or shipping charges! What did I do? I went to SEARS.com!
DO YOU HAVE A SEARS NEAR YOU? Most people don't know that SEARS.com has in store pickup for most of their appliances, but they do! I found out because a friend told me and then I verified it on the website. Now this is convenience!
WEBSITE INFO: The SEARS.com website is very poorly laid out, but manageable IF you know what you are looking for and what department to look in.
SELECT AND COMPARE: After getting to the Upright Freezers screen, I was able to sort the Freezers by price (from lowest to highest price was my choice) then I found two I thought I was interested in, selected the compare box next to them and on a new screen the two were compared side by side with the differences highlighted in yellow. I loved this feature! I didn't have to look and read the entire specs on both and figure out the differences myself.
PAYMENT: I used my Discover Card, as I get rebates back for using it, however the SEARS.com website also accepts Sears Card, Sears Premier Card, Sears Commercial One, Sears Gold MasterCard, MasterCard, VISA, and American Express.
ORDER CONFIRMATION: After placing my online order, I received a Order Confirmation Screen with a confirmation number. When my order was ready for pickup, I received an email (as a receipt to take with me) that detailed the steps to take when I get to the store and what to bring as proof of ID (Credit Card Used for Order and Copy of Email). For in store pickup orders, the order is supposed to be ready within 2 hours of placing the order, however since I placed the order at 10PM, I went to bed. The next morning, I opened my email and there it was, my email that I could go get my new freezer!
OVERALL, the option of staying home and finding exactly what I wanted and then just picking it up at the store when it was ready outweighed my dislike for the layout of SEARS.com.
I recommend this website to anyone looking for a great appliance at a great price, especially if they don't want the hassle of having a salesperson breath down their neck, trying to get them to buy something more expensive than they can really afford, or trying to talk them into getting the extra added warranty.
