Home schooling isn't for everyone. You should find a local home schooling group to help you get started.

so I always enjoy reading about other families and their experiences. We just love homeschooling, it has been the best choice we have ever made for our family.
Thanks for the great opinion!

Home schooling is legal in every state; however, some states have more requirements and restrictions than others. We home school in Iowa, where there are several different options. In Oklahoma, the least restrictive home schooling state, there is a constitutional amendment guaranteeing parents the right to direct their child's education. In states like Minnesota and Massachusetts and a few others, there are a lot of hurdles and hoops to jump through, but it can be done. The Home School Legal Defense Association (www.hslda.org) has comprehensive information about each state's requirements.

there are also charter schools that cater to homeschooling families. We belong to Great San Diego Academy. GSDA is a public school! We have a certified teacher we meet with once a month for lesson plans and reporting. Because it is a public school, we receive everything free of charge.
