So Far this has been a great item, with a few downfalls.
The machine itself is relatively easy to clean, the drip pan comes right out and the metal behind the heating elements slips out for easy cleaning. The food that comes out of the rotisserie has a fantastic taste, and chicken is tender and juicy with that incredible skin. We thought it would radiate alot of heat, but it really doesn't.
SPICES You will have to try out a few different spice recipies to find the one you enjoy. At first we tried the rotisserie chicken recipe in the manual and tried 'shaking' it onto the bird in a bag, but it went on way too thick, and then encrusted while cooking and wasn't too pleasant--so try to not put on spices too thick. I would stay away from a sugary type sauce until last few minutes of cooking because the elements are so close that it would burn if placed on too early.
TyingEnsure that your bird is properly tied when you purchase it, or buy butcher twine to tie the bird up properly or the wings will hit the heating elements as they go by and get burned.
Skewers
There was ALOT of cursing coming from the kitchen when hubby was trying to use the skewers as advised in the manual to put hotdogs on....he says you almost have to be a magician to use them the way it is stated in the manual (instead of placing skewer down hotdog lengthwise, they state you can fit more if you skewer them horizontally threw a few with two skewers.
Manual It comes with a basic manual with recipies and cooking times. The cooking times all seem to be approx. 15-30 minutes too long based on weight of chickens. The hotdogs cooking times were also double what they should have been. So you will have to carefully monitor the cooking times and adjust.
Manual states that you can cook up to four burgers, but realistically only one or maybe two small would fit, because in order to fit four burgers you would have to put them back to back and therefore the side facing inside wouldn't have the coloring and taste from being cooked facing the rotisserie heating elements.
Cleaning: The front see-through glass panel is not possible to wipe 100% clean --unless the machine is taken apart. The drip pan would need to be pulled out to empty during the cooking if you were cooking a really fatty bird, and while the pan was out- the drippings would have nowhere to go...unless you put a piece of foil down in the meantime.
So- All in all, I would recommend the machine. Great food, just a few downfalls.
