When it comes to my bathroom, or bathrooms in general, I cant stand dirty ceramic tile, sinks or shower doors. No matter what I use, I find myself still having to scrub even through the product claims that no scrubbing is necessary, just spray on and rinse. Yeah, and monkeys might fly out of my butt. I tried the specially designed tile cleaners, harsh smelling products and even the all natural ones all of them claimed theyd get my tiles, sinks and shower looking brand new and all of them failed. Now, with that being said, Cloroxs Soft Scrub family of products are exceptional in my opinion. You may have to scrub hard build up or stains that have been standing for a while but for the most part, this is one of the easiest cleaning products Ive come across for cleaning tile, around the water knobs, drain and of course the bathroom sink. After the first few treatments of this product you can generally squeeze out a quarter-sized dollop, rub it around, let it work and wash it clean. No, I dont work for Clorox
but with all the Clorox products Ive purchased, I should own stock in the company!
Clorox Soft Scrub Cleanser
When someone says the word cleanser the first thing that probably pops into your mind is a gritty powered product that gets the job done but gets all over the place. Think of this product as the liquid version of the powder only easier to use, thick enough to cling to shower walls and safer to use for those with respiratory problems. Ever accidentally slam down a can of cleanser and inhale some of it? Its not pleasant and for some people might trigger asthmatic attacks. Theres no real smell to this product but it will do a number on your hands if you use it without wearing gloves. I find that this works best on all types of tile from my kitchen counter to the shower tiles in the bathroom. I also use this on the tub, to clean the bottom of pots and pans, for the shower doors [stainless steel frame with glass panels] and my stovetop just to name a few. If you are a coffee or tea drinker, this is one of the best products to use to clean the carafes as well as mugs but make sure you rinse them thoroughly if you see a white grit on the surface after its dried, you didnt rinse well enough. Personally, the Clorox Soft Scrub With Bleach works the best for coffee carafes but if you dont feel like purchasing several varieties of this product, just soak it for a few minutes more in hot water.
In most cases you wont have to scrub to get things clean when you use Clorox Soft Scrub youll need to use a wet sponge or cloth to work the cleaner around but you wont be cracking a sweat to get things clean. As I mentioned earlier, if you are dealing with stains that have been on something for a while or thick layers of hard water build up a little scrubbing might be needed the first time but after that its a piece of cake. Using this is easy, the flip top lid makes it simple for anyone to use, even those with arthritis or hand ailments. Depending on what you are cleaning you can apply this directly to the surface to be cleaned or on to a wet sponge or cloth. Remember to wear protective gloves if you have sensitive skin or have cracked hands from winter weather. For larger surfaces like shower doors I squirt on a thick stream of it at the top of the door and work my way down with a wet sponge, by time I get to the bottom of the door, the top part is ready to be rinsed. To make quick work, apply this after youve taken a shower [or run the shower for a few minutes to build up some steam] to loosen up hard stains and make spreading the product around a little easier.
For kitchen and bathroom sinks, apply this to a wet sponger and wipe the area to be cleaned. Make sure you rinse all handles and knobs thoroughly and as I mentioned, if you see a white grit after it dries, theres still some of the product left on the surface. This is great for the bottom of pots and pans, especially if theyre starting to show some signs of burning. I like to make a thick paste of it with some baking soda and allow it to dry for about thirty minutes, this is usually enough to get most of it off, what ever is left generally comes off with a little elbow grease and a few more drops of the Soft Scrub. I drink a lot of iced tea and this takes a toll on my coffee carafe as well as my sink [stainless steel]. I generally soak all the mugs and carafe in bleach once a month [or use the Soft Scrub With Bleach] but between my month-to-month massive cleaning, I use this product to get the stains off them and remove the brown marks from the sink and drain area.
The white paste like cleanser doesnt have a strong smell to it and personally, I cant smell a thing when I flip the cap open and start using it. If you have a sensitive nose you might smell something when using this, if you are sensitive, use this in a well-ventilated area. Ive never had this ruin clothing but I did get it on a black t-shirt and it faded a small spot on it. Use the same care and precautions with this as you would with any cleaning product and never mix cleaners or work in a confined area without proper ventilation. Be sure to read the instructions and precautions on the bottle prior to use this and if you still have questions or concerns, call Clorox at [510] 271-7000.
Things To Know
• Youll want to make sure that you clean the lid off after youve used this since the liquid will cake up around the hole making it a little hard to use. This will also prevent air from getting into the bottle and drying out the top layer of product.
• The flip top lid is not childproof so make sure you keep this [and all cleaning products] away from places where children can gain access to them. If a child accidentally ingests this, follow the instructions on the side panel of the bottle or call your local poison control center.
• Clorox Soft Scrub is available in a variety of sizes ranging from 9 ounces to the large industrial 26 ounce size. The larger sizes are usually available at office supply warehouses, price clubs or my favorite store, Smart & Final.
• Prices for this range from $2.50 - $3.50 a bottle but there are always coupons available. Be sure to stock up when its on sale and use your coupons to maximize your savings! When I called Clorox to ask about the shelf life they said that it was good for at least a year but I know for a fact that the bottle of Clorox Soft Scrub With Bleach I have tucked away in the garage [great for the tires!] has been there for at least two years and still works like a champ.
The Bottom Line
For basic cleaning of the kitchen and bathroom, Clorox Soft Scrub is one of the most versatile products on the market. This is a great alternative to powdered cleansers that get the job done but are a little messy to work with. If you are looking for a versatile product that can be used on a lot of different surfaces, I highly suggest checking out Clorox Soft Scrub Cleaner for your cleaning needs! From the bathroom to the kitchen, garage to basement, this product will make cleaning just a little bit easier.
As always, thanks for the read!
