Do not minimize the pain a woman feels after experiencing a miscarriage - think before you speak.

I Know How You Feel.... (Reply to this comment)

Hi..My name is Kimberly,Im new here...What a heartfelt review on such a painful topic..Im glad the topic is here,to inform others of the pain of losing a child. 4 years ago (It seems like yesterday),my husband and I lost our third child through miscarriage, with no explanation from the doctor, and while people sympathized, they expected me to just "get over it",and it took me about 3 years to bring some closure. I have always named my kids before they were concieved,as if I already knew them (I have 7 year old Josh and 5 year old Caleb Ethan)This one was "Rachel",and I really loved her (I just had a "feeling" it was a girl, just like I knew my other two were boys..)I went yard-saling the day before it happened..only to come home from the hospital a few days later to look at all the pink clothes I had just bought. It was a nightmare. I couldnt stand to be around pregnant women without bursting into tears! When I witnessed pregnant women "complain" about the side effects of pregnancy ("God,Im tired of being bloated and fat",etc..)I would just "lose it" on them, giving them about 10 peices of my mind on how ungrateful they were! I almost thought I was going to lose my mind..God really helped me overcomeit, even though I blamed him for awhile. Time heals most wounds. Someday, when Ive gotten over the fear,Id like to biukd my family...Geez,this sounds like a review,I better cut it short! Thanks for listening, and thanks for that wonderful, insightful review.

word you wrote hit home with me. This article will help many moms who have lost their little ones. I should be 5 months pregnant, but I lost my "angel" in Dec., but I know she is near and will always be in my heart. I know your little girl is near you, too! Hugs & Smiles, Char

You forgot one...."It happens to almost all women at some point! I probably had a miscarriage and didn't even know it!" This, coming from my mother-in-law about 5 minutes after I found out I had lost my baby. Talk about insensitive.... Thanks for an excellent article on what _not_ to say!!!

The silence is even worse when it comes from the babies father. Oh well, he wanted me to abort it anyway but I refused. I am sure he got back in nice sports car and went back to his college life and was very happy...

sad but very helpful to others who have experienced this tragedy.

My mother used to say that "I'll never forget the joy baby Louis gave to me and how for 7 months he was my baby and for 24 years he's been my angel baby." She miscarried in her 7th month when I was little.

said it better myself :). Your words are both comforting and inspiring. I will say a prayer tonight for you and your daughter.

I know your daughter and my Noah are friends in heaven and are looking down on us.

Best,
