Pros: THX Navigation system, Roominess, Smooth Ride, Comfortable Interior, What a good looker!
Cons: Gas mileage, rear seat fold down screen is centered in rear view mirror.
The Bottom Line: Recommend the Navigator for anyone wanting to step out of the mudane and into the realm of the overindulgent. It gives a feeling of distinction every time we venture out.
Lincoln has always been known for its class and style but recently it has reached out to us boomers with a luxury vehicle that can find the fancy of all.
With its stylish exterior and roomy comfortable interior, the Lincoln Navigator has hit a home run with the crowd that has to have it all.
This beast has all the power of the big 4 wheel drive trucks and all of the comfort of the luxury class. This is no trumped up Ford Expedition. My family test drove the Navigator for only one night, and then test drove an Expedition for a full weekend hoping to be able to find that we could live without the Nav (and its heftier sticker). Not much to our surprise, the Expedition went back to its dealer and the Nav got a new home.
We originally were looking for a Navigator with just a few options, but convinced ourselves in the interim to go all out and go for every option available. The Ultimate package hands out options enough, however we went for the power running boards, tow package, chrome wheels, rear seat entertainment system, and my personal favorite the new "THX" Navigation System.
Being a home theater buff I had to go 6 hours out of my way to score one of the first Navigators with the "THX" sound system. Let me tell you, it was worth it. The folks at LucasFilms THX division don't haphazardly hand out certification stamps and this system is a testiment to that quality. I have never heard a "factory" system that sounds so good.
My family is very pleased with the performance of this top notch vehicle and look forward to many years of enjoyment.
