I went too easy on this one. (Reply to this comment)

I gave this car five stars, but likely shouldn't have. I was so surprised by the quality of the interior and the price for what you get (especially after discount and rebate) that I gave the car a pass on its weak spots--which you've noted well.
Unlike just about every other reviewer, I liked the shifter in this car. Either I got an especially good unit--in many cars shift feel varies a bit from unit to unit--or I'll have to go with the above explanation.
One thing that's always a bit hard to figure into the overall rating is price. Even loaded the Tib costs well under twenty after discount and rebate. That's quite cheap for what it includes. Too cheap?
As for charges of plagiarism, people are just wary because this site has suffered from quite a bit of it. Too often a well-written review was later found to be stolen. But to me yours seem genuine. After all, who else has liked the rear seat in an ION? j/j

Rerating today as VH -- excellent insights, well-written, and better format in the rewrite, together with explanatory comment. -- Charles

Very good review - Owner says! (Reply to this comment)

And this is coming from an owner!
I am very happy with my Tiburon, but your review does carry some weight with me. There are times I wished the ride wasn't so harsh, but on the twisties, I appreciate the suspension, as you did. A very apt description in referring to the car as a daily commuter with a sporty edge (I'm paraphrasing). I had no problem interpreting your review as your own, having pored over every known review out there. There are some vaguely familiar statements, but nothing I would consider plagiarist. I do disagree about the personality (or lack thereof) and I enjoy the "bathtub" seating. Overall, though, an excellent summation of the car's pros and cons.
After a few days in a rental, like recently with a Mazda Protege5 or even my wife's Santa Fe, when I climb back into my car, I really appreciate the solidness of the Tiburon. It is a heavy car for a sportster, and I think that's the main reason some find it less communicative than they'd like.

Re: Really light on the experience (Reply to this comment)

I'm frankly a bit surprised that someone would automatically assume I was plagarizing the reviews I took the time to post, but I suppose it's understandable since my reviews were in an article-like essay format. I wrote some of these reviews several months ago for a college project, and am just now putting them on Epinions (that's why my review described the Aerio as "new"--it was.) In any case, I'm re-posting my reviews in a simpler, less magazine-ish layout so they'll be easier to read and hopefully quell any budding conspiracy theories. I'm new to this site, so thanks for the feedback.

Really light on the experience (Reply to this comment)

Having more difficulty figuring out if you've actually driven the cars or you are reworking the reviews of others. You need to set forth some specific and detailed evidence. Having read your Aerio review, which stated erroneous things like the Aerio is "new" and crash test information was not out yet, I find it even more difficult to believe you are driving these cars. -- Charles

Your reviews... (Reply to this comment)

...are difficult to rate. When I look over them, you seem to cover the main things, but when I'm finished reading I just don't have a great feel for the car. All of your reviews have been on my border of Helpful/Very Helpful, and VH has been the outcome in most cases, but I don't feel comfortable with that - nor would I feel comfortable giving you a helpful.
In general I'd say you just need to go into a little more depth with each of the characteristics. With some of your reviews, you seem to have left a few details out (in this review, I see little/nothing about the interior).
If you were to just slow down and focus more attention on each review, you'll probably be able to sway those who have been rating your reviews Helpful to rate them Very Helpful. If you add anything to the reviews of yours that I have rated Helpful, email me with a link to the review and I'll rerate.
