Two months ago we decided to cancel our second phone line + previous internet service provider ($35 a month) for cable modem ($40).

Cost- $40 a month, may come with first two months free.

Installation- Free (order cable online for better deals). Took about 1 1/2 hours. Drilled through our wall, but clean up nicely.

Reliability- Good so far, has not disconnected/ broken down.

Modem- $10 is paid for the modem you are renting. If you buy the $200 modem, the cable will cost $30 a month.

Service provided- free email, and web browser. (I don't use them anyway).

Speed/ broadband- depending on sites I have gotten speeds of 30k to 500k (this is constant speed, you may get 1000k for split seconds). Broadband means you can download 30 songs at once off Napster with out slowing down the downloading speed.

All around Cable value- Excellent, a lot less frustrating than 56k!

Tech Support- Have not had the chance to call them yet. (no problems so far).
