All of the plans included Voicemail, Called ID, 3-way calling, call fowarding, call waiting and detailed billing in all of there plans. Alltel has three main types of plans for post-paid accounts, Total Freedom which comes with no activation fee and the first month is free, total freedom plans start at 39.95 for 300 minutes and go all the way up to 3000 minutes for 299.95. The total freedom package includes no roaming and free long distance, and unlimited nights and weekends and mobile to mobile while in your home area. The next and the best plan I would say is the National freedom plan which has no activation fee and begins at 35.00 with 300 minutes and goes up to 3800 minutes for 200.00 a month and has all the features mentioned above but carry over all over the country, although there a certain rural areas mainly out west which may have roaming (.99/min). The last plan is the Local freedom so in my case it would include Florida, you get more minutes with this plan but there is a 35.00 activation fee with this plan. The plans start at 29.95 for 300 minutes and go up to 199.95 for 4000 minutes, they have all the features above as long as your in your local calling area (Florida). Alltel has pre-paid plans as well (Boomerang) but work only on the Alltel network and averages out to be about .17/min. Alltel offers many different phones from open faced handsets to clam shell flip phones. Alltel carries, Motorola, LG, Nokia, Kyocera, and Audiovox. contract terms are 1 and 2 years, phones are cheaper with a 2 yr contract but if you don't want to be locked down I would recommend a one year contract. The service in the southern Florida region with Alltel is Excellent. Number portability is available in this region as well.
