Pros: Feels solid, nice ring tones, bright display.
Cons: Relatively "Old", too expensive for its age. Low talk volume.
The Bottom Line: I'd pick up this phone if I could get it free or even make some money with the rebates from a cell plan. Too old to buy.

| deejmic's Full Review: Samsung SGH-V205 |
I've been looking into the current cell phone market for the better part of 2 months straight. I've had cellular service from Qwest and Verizon in the past and used Quallcomm and Kyocera phones with each of those companies respectively.
So about a month ago I call my local TMobile rep to get info on the e715 Samsung and instead he talks me into the Motorola v300. Fair enough, if he says it's better and I'll get the same price, I'm game. Well, I placed my order and for the next 3 weeks got jerked around about how I just have to be patient until it arrives, that they are backordered nationwide and how lucky I am that he's getting me one because they're so hard to get (then why are you pushing them so hard!!!!)
By the end of week 3 I had enough and canceled my order through him. He was extremely rude toward the end and TMobile's main office will hear from me soon.
Anyhow, I went to Circuit City to find the v300 and of course they were out of stock and only expecting 2 more in that week and they're not allowed to reserve them.
So I looked around the store and came up with the Samsung 205v.
I love the way it feels, love the ringer options , love the bright display and love the fact you can adjust the built in digital camera forward and backward for self portraits.
What I didn't like about the phone was the picture quality was not very good, the low speaker volume even when maxed out and the fact that although the phone was on the market for almost a year, it was the same price as the Motorola v300. It's old technology and has a bit of an "old" look already.
It bothered me for 2 days until I finally went back to Circuit City to see if by chance the Moto had come in. It had and they had one left, so I traded my Samsung in and took the Moto..... but I'll leave my thoughts on my new v300 phone to a later review of that product.
Bottom line with the 205v is that although I like the feel and the look and the size and most of the options, it's too old already to be taken seriously with the advance in technology, even in 10 months, that takes place in the cell phone market. And for my money, that, I just couldn't live with... even if I did love the phone.
