It's going on 2 years now since I've had my phone.

I worked for a company who used them exclusively for their 2-way radio since we did computer support.

I was impressed with their durability (they can be dropped big time!!) and their clear signal nearly anywhere when other phones would cut out.

Okay, I think the 2-way radio thing is cool. I wish Nextel would set up some kind of "chat" service where you could sign up on their website that you would like to talk with other people who share your interest by the 2-way phone.

Back to the good stuff for Nextel. I have brought their phone to:
Illinois (3 times)
California (1 time)
New York (2 times)
Iowa (1 time)
Ohio (1 time)

The state with the most "unavailable" time was Iowa. NYC and CA were great...I'm sitting in the subway, chatting away.

Pricing plans can be great, make sure to figure out what kind of caller you are....I had the unlimited incoming calls but now I'm not getting so many so I am switching my plan.

Oh Yeah!!! Another great thing is that you can just buy your phone from Nextel and not be in some dumb yearly contract that will burn you if you quit it.
