The Bottom Line: If you are looking for cheap get this, if you are looking for something average, go look somewhere else.
As a student going a way to university I didn't want to lug around a computer, a monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers and a printer. Besides I was there to study not to play games. So I decided to go and shop for a laptop.
I stumbled across the 2060CDS @ Business Depot, my main objective, cheap, cheap and more cheap. So that's why I went with 2060CDS. Eager to set it up, I took it home and ripped it out of the box. Booted it up and "tada" I was in Windows. After using it for a while I noticed the screen wasn't all it is cracked up to be. The refresh rate was slow causing images to go blurry if they even move on the screen. The keyboard size was fine but yet the design of having the CD-ROM drive on the side was bad. Since it was besides the USB port, whenever you have an USB accessory plugged in it would hinder the drive from opening, not impressed. Whenever the processor is needed to do some "extra" processing, like loading Excel, Word and Explorer, the noisy fan would go on and for the first time I thought it was going to exploded. And once the applications loaded the time it took to switch between them I could have made myself breakfast and lunch and even started on dinner before I got to the desired application. I decided to add another 32MB of RAM uping the system to 64MB and that was much better. Well it's been a 2 years and the system is fine... after countless add-ons. I now use an external monitor because the screen is so bad, a mouse because the little eraser knob just doesn't cut it and I also have a CD-RW, but that doesn't really do anything in terms of performance (read my review of the Ricoh portable if you want a CD-RW for you laptop). Oh yeah and who could forget that 32MB upgrade of RAM.
Oh one more thing, I damaged the speaker cover, which is the wire mesh that covered the speaker, well lets just say tech support was useless, it took me 3 months or so until I can get a dealer to order me the part and I had to go search for the part # for them. Needless to say, you are on your own.
