| raypendergraph's Full Review: General Reviews of Nextel Customer Service |
I had a Nextel for a year. Many of my friends are required to have Nextel (contractors) so I figured what the heck... bad mistake. The best part about this service is the two way radio, the phone part of the service is very poor. Conversations where one person can hear the other but cannot speak, terminated calls that still rack up minutes, and very patchy service. Another annoying thing is that the type of radio that's used (the underlying technology) requires a lot of power (at least more power than a Sprint or Verizon phone in PCS or 1X mode) and the battery life on the phones SUCK. That is one of the main complaints about Nextel phones. I am constantly being told, "I'll call you back my phone is about to die." by my Nextel subscribing friends. Unless you are a contractor or other professional and need the radio feature, stay away from Nextel until they get all their crap worked out. One good thing about the service is they had a descent voice mail system.
