I took over my brother's phone and contract when he left NY; I probably wouldn't have gone with Verizon. However, I have been completely satisfied with the service. I have the $35 150 nationwide roaming minutes plan, as I travel a lot on business. When in NY, the coverage is good, and I always get my voicemails. Outside of the city, I haven't been anywhere that didn't have coverage, including some fairly remote parts in Eastern Texas where colleagues using AT&T and Sprint were lost. Calls are clear and rarely dropped, and I never get a busy signal trying to phone out, nor do people get them when calling me. Although it isn't that well designed, the online billing and statements are easy and convenient, and offer some account management tools and user statistics. The only things that I am not satisfied about are the fact that I don't get VM notification when I am roaming, and that you have to listen to an entire message before having the option to erase it. Apart from that, it's been good.
