Best unit on the market or off, period. UNit is accurate and sensitive, i dont care what ANYONE says. i used this unit for almost 5 years, got it stolen now i'm trying desperatly to find another one to replace it. I bought a Whistler 1730 to try and i couldnt hear it well, the LEDs were too dim to see durring the day and it all around SUCKED at detecting radar. I drove past a cop with his gun pointed right at me and it didnt make a peep. The Uniden, however, always had bright LEDS that could always be seen in the brightest sun, and had an audio function which dimmed the lights if you DID find them annoying. Had one LARGE square LED on the left of the readout to indicate the band of radar being used, it detects all three. And a single lone red LED to indicate Laser detection. The audio indicators were distinct, and LOUD. I always got plenty of warning with this unit. another feature that was cool was the mute option, unlike others (the Whistler to name one) where it has a "Quiet mode" which makes the unit silent (and with not being able to see the LEDs during the day it might as well be turned off), this feature will allow the FIRST chirp of any detection through so it gets yer attention, then it will mute all subsequent chirps of that detection string, VERY nice for everyday driving. Plus when i lost the windsheild mount for it, i had to stick it to my dash, so it was pointed down and to the left and still got PERFECT reception. I had this unit in my car everyday i had it, and it was on every day i had it. As long as there are X, K, and Ka and laser band guns in use, i will have this unit in my car. Period. if you can get yer hands on one, they arent made anymore by uniden, in fact uniden doesnt make radar detectors anymore! GET ONE!
