Miles Davis Waves The Electric Flag
by factotum | Apr 11 '01
Miles Davis's Fusion period was not the disaster that it's detractors made it out to be, nor was it as revolutionary as its devotees would have you believe.

Thanks. True, Tony Williams should have been included, that's an oversight on my part. And it is true that Zawinul was the leader of Weather Report--I didn't mean to suggest that Shorter was, it's just bad syntax that made it appear that way-- I meant Shorter's Weather Report just in the sense that he was a member of the group.

Great essay (Reply to this comment)

Two things though: you forgot to include The Tony Williams Lifetime in your list of Davis' offspring. And Zawinul was the leader of Weather Report, not Shorter. Besides these beefs, a well-informed and very refreshing essay! Keep up the good work!

Cheers,
Michael
