Pros: plays all GB games, good size, fits well, easy setup, works great,
Cons: only comes in black :(, linking requires GBA cable, don't lose the start-up disc!
The Bottom Line: If your eyes are a'hurtin' from your GBA, try this one out.

| videogamzrulz's Full Review: Game Boy Player for Gamecube |
*I've decided to shave off a point - some games are better on a GBA because you can play them against each other with a link cable.*
Nintendo delivers with a handy new device called the Game Boy Player! For those who don't know, this is spossed to allow you to play any Game Boy Advance game on your Gamecube using a Gamecube controller. Not only does it let you play GBA games, but the classic Game Boy games as well.
How it looks
The Game Boy player is about five inches long and wide, and about an inch thick. It fits comfortably on the bottom of your gamecube, and it comes in any color...as long as you want black. There is a slot on the front of it where you put the game in, and a place the put a GBA cable in. It doesn't look quite right under a blue Gamecube.
Setup
I thought this thing would be impossible to set up, but how wrong I was. Setup was easy as pie. All you have to do is remove the large cover on the bottom of your Gamecube, and plug the GBP in there. It fits perfectly, and slides in easily. Then you put the "GBP start up disc" in, and you're off!
Great, but does it work?
Yes, it works great. I haven't tried many games on it yet, but the ones I have tried worked just as well as on the GBA. It certainly helps your posture. You don't hurt your eyes squinting to read the text of Fire Emblem, either.
Games are more fun this way!
Some favorites, like Final Fantasy, are great on the big screen. It is just easier to play, and easier to see. And now someone can watch your mad skillz on the GBA. The g-cube controller works as good, if not better, than the GBA controls. You can set the controls how you like - "A" on the GBA could be "B" on the gamecube. You decide. Genrally, you'll want to keep the controls the same.
Classic games
I don't know how classic games work, because I haven't tried one myself (not having a Game Boy Color), but I heard that they work pretty good from one of my pals. "Castlevania sounds even scarier!", he exclaimed. "Yeah right.", I said.
How about da linking?
Games that can be linked to your gamecube can't be linked by simply pluging the GBP in. For that you need a GBA cable, like if you were to connect your GBA to the Gamecube. The way to link is to setup as usual, then stick one end of the link cable into the GBP and the other into the back of your gamecube.
Final Word
Give this one a go, especially if you don't have a GBA. No more squinting for you!
