| Shecket's Full Review: Hewlett Packard HP PSC-1210 All-In-One Printer |
At about 15" x 8" x 6.5", this is a printer / scanner / copier that takes up very little of your precious desk space. The images come out sharp, and as long as you refrain from using it as a shelf, the copier feature is a wonderful convenience. My problem, however, is with the scanner. The scanning software is confusing and the images come up very grainy.
The on-panel buttons are sleek and attractive, and they allow you to make copies while your computer is booting.
One thing that this all-in-one lacks is a fax, which I suppose I would have use for about 2 or 3 times a year.
Perhaps the lack of a USB cable is an inconvenience for most, but it my case, I just happened to have an extra one lying around. It belonged to the previous printer that broke, an EPSON photo printer that was a total basketcase. Its predecessor, a canon bubblejet, didn't survive freshman year of college, perhaps due to frequent moving. In fact, the only printer in the family that's lasted was an HP IIIP laser printer that my dad purchased in 1992. It still works to this day. Such reliability dwarfs out all other brands I have tried. From now on, it's HP for me.
