The Bottom Line The two things to watch out for are customization and errors.

Having a cable modem is like a new experience to everyone. The price is high and there are problems but they are all well worth it. Here is what I can tell you about owning one and I hope this helps with you buying or using a cable modem.

What Do I Do?

What advice can I offer for using cable modems? A lot, and I will start talking now. If you want a cable modem, first you'll have to get signed up. Just call the cable internet dealer (Comcast) and they should set it up. Once they have everything done you have a cable modem, but that's not all. When you first got your cable modem, you will probably have to change some settings such as mail. If you want to change your Outlook Express name then you can do this by following these steps. Open up Microsoft Outlook Express and go to the Tools menu. Then go to Accounts. This should take you to an area where you can customize your settings for your mail. All you have to do now is go to the "Mail" named icon and you can change your settings there. Note that "Mail" is only used with Comcast. Ready for the next step? Ok, here we go. You may find problems using your cable modem and this is the last advice I can give you. There is only one problem that sticks out from all the rest which is no response from the cable modem. Here is what you do if that happens, Go to the back of your modem and take a pencil tip to the reset button, and DO NOT hold it. Only press down for a split second because if the button was held then you will delete your full cable modem settings. That is all the information I can offer and if you have more I would call your internet company otherwise! Thanks for reading my review.
