Oh, I'm afraid all right. I'm also afraid I haven't updated some of these for a while. There wouldn't be much movement on this list though, right?

"Gigi"....haven't seen it.

-Thanks for the comments, Lisa.

What? Not even an honorable mention for Gigi?

Great lists! I'm working my way through all your top tens and we have a lot of movies in common. (translation: be afraid, be very afraid).

I never thought of myself as a fan of musicals, but when I think about it a lot of the ones on this list are favorites of mine.

I thought Evita was really a good movie - you should see it and compare!

I also really liked the Les Miserables with Liam Neeson and Geoffrey Rushworth, but unless I'm totally mistaken, it wasn't musical. Still a good movie, but you're right, it would be nice to get a musical version of it.

The current picture IS "really" ME. And I change it whenever it tickles my fancy. My fancy WHAT, I don't know.

I love musicals too! (Reply to this comment)

I agree with all your choices except the last two. I hate Carousel and Ohklahoma, finally I've found someone else who does too! Everybody else says they're the greatest musicals in the whole world. Not!

I was kind of surprised not to see "South Pacific" on here. Sure, some of the songs were stupid, but others were great. And how can you hate "The King and I" and "Chess"? I loved the songs from "Chess," even though I didn't like the story.

I would LOVE to see a movie made out of "PHantom of the Opera." They're currently in the process of getting their act together (oops was that a pun?) to make it. (Check out www.phantommovie.com)

Anyway, just had to get my licks in! Great rundown!

I love "The Secret Garden" and would love to see it as a film.

I had the Muppet's Movie record and played it all the time as a child. It had Kermit and Miss Piggy in a boat on the front. Ah, memories...wonder what ever happened to that record? I loved the music.
Anyway, loved your review and I must say...is that really you in the picture??? LOL! I think you change the picture more than anyone I know but it keeps things interesting. :)
Happy Writing!

Some interesting choices (Reply to this comment)

I love Camelot and Fiddler on stage but I hate the movie versions. I love Mary Poppins, but it lost a lot of its shine after I discovered Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Rocky Horror is a lot of fun, and I can't fault you for chosing it. Nice review.

love Little Shop of Horrors? I belt out "Suddenly Seymour" at the top of my lungs every time I watch it, whether I can sing on key or not :o)

You know, I just never really LIKED "Singing in the Rain". GREAT song, and Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds were great, but the STORY of it just never hooked me. The whole Hollywood backlot scene just leaves me cold. But I agree that Dick Van Dyke was at his best playing "Bert"...even better than Rob Petrie on the DVD Show.

My whole family loves it and Mary Poppins. Dick Van Dyke is so great in Poppins.
